Legal Domain Expert

What you’ll do

• 01Work with the data product and engineering teams through interviews, material review, and hands-on platform use.
• 02Map contract review, due diligence, legal research, drafting, and case analysis into task systems with clear difficulty levels.
• 03Design high-quality, discriminating tasks from foundational to advanced levels, grounded in real legal practice.
• 04Write reproducible reference answers and scoring rubrics with explicit scoring points and judgment boundaries.
• 05Review task and annotation quality, arbitrate disputed cases, and continuously improve the system.

What we’re looking for

• 013+ years at a top-tier law firm or a leading in-house legal team across compliance, disputes, or transactions.
• 02Deep expertise in at least one core area: corporate / M&A, dispute resolution, capital markets, intellectual property, or compliance.
• 03Strong decomposition and rigorous writing skills; able to turn complex work into structured tasks and standards.
• 04Clear communicator who can make tacit legal knowledge legible to a non-legal team.
• 05Legal professional qualification required; top law-school training or an overseas credential such as JD, LLM, NY Bar, or CA Bar is preferred.

Bonus points

• Deep coverage of a particular industry or jurisdiction.
• Teaching or mentoring experience and an ability to systematize methodology.

Terms

Project-based, paid monthly at ¥20k–30k depending on experience. Remote or on-site; at least 8 hours per week, with a recommended commitment of one month or longer.
