Video Editing Expert (Part-time)

We’re building challenging, long-horizon video editing tasks and evaluation frameworks for large AI models. We’re looking for a video editing expert with hands-on production experience to turn editing workflows into structured task maps and design tasks and scoring criteria based on typical production scenarios for model training and evaluation. This is not a conventional editing role: you’ll turn your professional methods and judgment into industry standards that models can understand, be trained on, and be evaluated against.

What you’ll do

  1. 01Collaborate with data product and engineering teams through interviews, materials review, task design, and hands-on use of the platform.
  2. 02Design high-quality editing tasks that distinguish between levels of ability and reflect real production scenarios and delivery requirements. Cover short-form video, brand promotion, talking-head videos, interviews, courses, e-commerce, documentaries, or other content types you know well.
  3. 03Define clear, reproducible delivery standards and scoring rubrics, including final video requirements, project file specifications, key scoring criteria, common errors, and guidance on scoring borderline cases. Where needed, explain the rationale and trade-offs behind different editing approaches.
  4. 04Review the quality of tasks, source material descriptions, and model outputs. Provide expert judgment on disputed results involving pacing, storytelling, visuals, subtitles, audio, graphics and visual treatment, or technical specifications, and continually refine evaluation standards.

What we look for

  1. 01At least 3 years of experience in video editing, post-production, or video production; candidates who have continued delivering projects over the past 3 years are preferred.
  2. 02Experience with a studio, production company, MCN, brand content team, advertising agency, or film and television post-production company, or as a freelance editor.
  3. 03Proficiency in at least two mainstream editing tools, such as Jianying Pro (剪映专业版), Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro; familiarity with workflows spanning multiple applications is preferred.
  4. 04End-to-end project experience, from raw footage and project files to the finished video, and an understanding of communication, review, revision, and delivery workflows.
  5. 05Good writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain professional judgments clearly to teams without a video production background.

Nice to have

  • Experience mentoring others, teaching courses, or managing teams.
  • Deep experience in a specific content category, such as advertising, brand films, narrative short films, documentaries, variety shows, livestream clips, e-commerce, or educational content.

Working arrangement

Part-time, project-based work with remote collaboration available. All stages, including interviews, task design, and reviews, are fairly compensated.
